2060 Florida Transportation PlanThe 2060 Florida Transportation Plan (FTP) creates a shared vision for the future of transportation in Florida and the goals, objectives, and strategies to achieve this vision over the next 50 years. The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is charged by state law with convening public, private and civic transportation partners to develop the state's long range transportation plan every five years. The 2060 FTP was finalized December 2010. This website will describe the FTP development process and the steps being taken to implement the goals, objectives, and strategies laid out in the 2060 FTP. What's New April 15, 2011 2060 Florida Transportation Plan Final Copy Now AvailableThe 2060 Florida Transportation Plan (FTP) marks a new era of transportation in Florida and calls for a fundamental change in how and where Florida invests in transportation. The FTP defines transportation goals, objectives, and strategies to make our economy more competitive, enhance quality of life, and ensure our environment provides quality places to live for future generations.
During 2010, the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) and its partners worked to update the Florida Transportation Plan (FTP). The FTP is a plan for all of Florida – including local, regional, and state partners who make decisions about future transportation investments. After six meetings of a twenty nine member Steering Committee, twenty four web meetings of four advisory groups, one statewide summit, two statewide webinars, twelve regional workshops, nearly three hundred briefings at regularly scheduled meetings of transportation partners, and this interactive website helping to gather input and feedback from more than ten thousand Floridians, the update process is completed.
